Our Mission

After Ro DiLeo was diagnosed with cancer in 2019, the outpouring of support from friends and family played a crucial role in bolstering the spirits of the DiLeo family. The difference that this support made for their family inspired the DiLeos to create Making Memories.

Making Memories provides funds to help patients and their families create special moments as they strive to overcome health hurdles. Making Memories That Last Forever collaborates with regional hospitals and healthcare systems across Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse to identify patient candidates for the program who are fighting pediatric cancer, living with disabilities, or facing other life-threatening conditions.

Since, each memory is unique to the patient and their family, the responsibilities vary by case, but Joe is responsible for the following tasks:

  • Making travel and other logistical arrangements for the memory

  • Arranging for sports figures, musicians, or other celebrities to participate in the memory

  • Arranging for necessary medical support required during the experience

  • Any logistic support to ensure that the family’s only focus will be on making a memory with their sick/ill child.

  • Recruitment of volunteers to assist with the memory presentation

We also have established a link with all local cancer centers and hospitals who treat pediatric and adolescent cancer. The foundation offers financial support to transport the patients and families to other cancer centers in the United States who offer more advanced and experimental treatments.

In addition to creating memories, we strive to create lasting relationships with each of the patients and their families. This relationship is at the center of our commitment to give back to those in need of love and support during their battle.

Make a Memory Possible.
